The guidance officer works collaboratively with other members of the school support team to assist all students to access and engage in learning and achieve positive educational outcomes. The role is varied and could involve: student observation and assessment; development of individual support plans; advice and recommendations around emotional and social well-being, mental health, behaviour, family issues and education; counselling and referrals to external agencies; liaising with families and external agencies and; individual case management.
