The overarching purpose of Beaudesert State School is to prepare our students to be…

We aim to achieve this purpose within a safe, caring and supportive learning environment in which students maximise their potential through…

Curriculum

At Beaudesert State School we believe it is the right of every student to achieve his/her full potential.

The School Program is designed to provide a quality education meeting the needs, interests and abilities of individual students emphasising the development of appropriate and relevant knowledge, processes, skills and attitudes in the following subject areas:

  • English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Health, Physical Education and Human Relationships, Japanese (Yr 4,5 and 6 only) Art, Music and Infor​mation Communication​​ Technology.

  • Teachers provide a challenging learning environment which embraces Productive Pedagogy and:

  • encourages independent learning

  • allows risk taking and has warmth, co-operation, acceptance, flexibility and open-endedness as its characteristics.

  • provides all students with the opportunity to develop creative and critical thinking skills by being involved in real-life problem finding and solving using higher order thinking and metacognition, as well as implementing a curriculum that accommodates different learning modes across a range of abilities and interests.

  • encompasses the Multiple Intelligences framework to cater for auditory, visual and kinaesthetic learners, recognising students individual strengths and weaknesses.

  • also considers the social and emotional development of the child not just the academic, in the planning and provision of learning experiences.

  • upholds the principles of equity and inclusivity.

To prepare our students for the age of technology, all students have access to the Internet. The school is committed to increasing the number of computers for students and providing appropriate software to meet the challenge of the future.
